Kenya applies 25% EAC customs duty on tiles (HS 6907), plus 16% VAT and 1.5% Railway Development Levy. Total landed cost with taxes can add 40–50% above FOB price. An Import Declaration Fee (IDF) of 3.5% on CIF value also applies.
Sea freight from Nhava Sheva to Mombasa takes 12–18 days. Total lead time including production is 30–40 days from order. We ship FOB Nhava Sheva or CIF Mombasa as required.
Standard terms: TT (30% advance, 70% before shipment) or LC at sight. Imperial Decor works with both. First orders typically require TT advance payment.
Mombasa Port is Kenya's primary port for all container imports. It handles East Africa's largest import volume. From Mombasa, tiles move by road or SGR rail to Nairobi and upcountry.
600x600mm and 300x600mm are most popular. Polished vitrified tiles lead in homes and offices. Ceramic wall tiles 300x450mm are standard for bathrooms. Wood-look 200x1200mm is trending strongly in Nairobi.
